Letter of Volatility

A letter of volatility is a very specialized letter that is issue by manufacturers of electronic devices that state some of the capabilities of the onboard memory devices of an individual product. It is mainly used with concern to the security requirements of companies working with very sensitive information. The purpose is to state what the capabilities of the onboard memory devices are. A letter of volatility may also be necessary when exporting an electronic device to some specific foreign countries. Letters if volatility can usually be obtained by contacting the manufacturer of the product.
